Hank Hilsmann Memorial Scholarship

Description

1.Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.


2. Applicant must be either:


(1) a current holder of an A&P certificate and currently employed in general aviation,

(2) a student currently enrolled in either an accredited A&P program or an approved FAR Part 147 school or

(3) aviation military personnel transitioning to business aviation.


3. Fill out this application form in its entirety and sign it.


4. Submit a minimum 250-word, typed, double-spaced essay describing your interest in and goals for a career in the business aviation maintenance field. Your typed name must appear at the top of the page.


5. Submit a current, one-page resume with permanent home address.


6. Submit a letter of recommendation from a supervisor, faculty member or other individual who is familiar with your capabilities. A recommendation from an NBAA Member Company Representative is encouraged but not required.


7. For full-time students, submit proof of enrollment, such as an official transcript.


8. Completed application package, which includes this form, one essay, one resume and one letter of recommendation and, for students, one transcript, must be received by NBAA Charities no later than December 1, 2025, to be considered for the scholarship.
