Application Deadline: June 15, 2026

Target Candidate: Students currently enrolled in a university aviation program that is a member of UAA and NBAA (preference will be given to AABI-accredited institutions) Sophomore standing or higher, Minimum GPA of 3.0

Award Amount: Up to two awards of $1,500 each, made payable directly to the institution in which the student is enrolled

Notification/Award Period: Announced at NBAA-BACE

NBAA created the Steve Brown Leadership Scholarship to honor the association’s former chief operating officer, who retired in 2022. In coordination with NBAA Charities, the scholarship supports students interested in pursuing a career in business aviation who are currently enrolled in programs to achieve this goal.

Scholarship applicants must provide a 500- to 1,000-word essay that describes how their leadership skills in their aviation studies embody one or more of NBAA’s Core Values:

Essays will be evaluated by NBAA’s Business Aviation Management Committee (BAMC).

Applicants must also provide a resume that highlights education and professional experience, as well as volunteer work or extracurricular activities that showcase their leadership skills.

Two letters of recommendation and transcript are also required.
